Caregivers can enjoy a stress and child-free evening on the town while children have an entertaining experience of their own exploring the LCM. Join us for this sensory friendly preschool workshop as each child and caregiver pair will mix and make a batch of hot chocolate playdough in celebration of National Hot Chocolate Day! Children will mold and play and leave with their very own hot chocolate sensory kit to take with them for the fun to continue at home. This program is recommended for children ages 3-6 and their caregiver. Cost is $5 per child plus general admission or membership. Registration required and space is limited. Join us on Sundays 1 pm-2:45 pm throughout the month of February to set sail on an international journey, visiting a new country each session. Learn about the culture and language of each country through hands-on activities, songs, or dances with Bucknell University foreign language teaching assistants and faculty. Hey kids! Join us for two fun filled sessions of interactive storytelling. Listen to stories and tales told by Edna Cravitz, retired elementary school teacher, author, and storyteller extraordinaire. During these workshops, participants will have the opportunity to create their very own shadow puppet theater and puppets, becoming the storyteller/puppeteer. Join us for this Leap into Science workshop and explore the properties of wind and air by designing a wind detector. Leap into Science is a nationwide program from The Franklin Institute Science Museum that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books. Children and families will explore the science of wind through hands-on activities, while learning to think like scientists. Recommended for children 6-10 years old. Stop by the LCM or the Milton Public Library and grab a FREE activity kit as we celebrate Leap into Science Week on Wednesday, February 23 at 10:00 am with a special virtual program. This Leap into Science light and shadow workshop invites preschool children and families to experiment with light and explore the ways that light interacts with objects to create shadows, reflections, and more. Robotics Club is designed for children 8-12 years old to introduce them to concepts of engineering, hands-on building, mechanics, and programming experience. Participants will learn teamwork and problem-solving skills using the Vex Robotics curriculum. This is a five week program. Register here.
Baby Sign Class (0-3 years old)

Help your baby communicate, increase bonding and connection, and open your child’s heart and mind during this special baby and caregiver Sign Language class. Emphasis will be placed upon increasing communication with your child, including appropriate use of signs for such times as meal, bath, and play time. Caregivers will actively participate and learn the signs with their child. Activities will include structured play, pictures, music, and games.
