Toddler Time
Wednesdays at 10:30 am

Toddler Time is an interactive program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver. Toddler Time includes a story, sing-a-long, and/or hands-on learning activities. Program is included with general admission or membership. Sign ups will be available day of the program at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.

ex-STREAM Saturdays

Saturdays at 10:30am – 12:30pm

Drop in on Saturdays between the hours of 10:30am - 12:30pm for some hands on ex-STREAM fun! Each week we'll explore a different STREAM theme- Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, or Math- where you can participate in an activity, experiment, or craft at the museum. This program is free with general admission or membership and recommended for ages 4 and up. Sponsored by the Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund.

When I Grow Up

Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 10:15 and 11:15 am

When you grow up, what do you want to be? A teacher, doctor, or a scientist? Create your future self and show us who you want to be. Program recommended for children 5 and up and included with general admission or membership. To accommodate capacity restrictions, two program session times will be available: 10:15 am-10:45 am or 11:15 to 11:45 am. Sign ups will be available day of the program at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.

 

Museum-at-Home: Future Me, A Virtual Career Fair

Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 12:00 pm

Test drive your future through this virtual career fair! Meet a teacher, scientist, policeman, and many others representing a wide variety of careers. Join us for a Facebook Live event where we will interview a few local professionals and give you time to ask some questions. Additional interviews will be uploaded to the LCM website for you to check out later. Complete a Career Day Resume and send it back to us for a chance at a random prize drawing. You will have until Sunday, September 27 at 5:00 pm to send back the completed Career Day Resume. Program is free and sponsored by Kluge Insurance Group and the Walmart Foundation.

F.U.N. Weekend Program: Stream Study

Saturday, October 10⋅10:00 – 11:30am

Registration is now open for a Fall Stream Study event as part of the Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s Families Understanding Nature (FUN) Weekend Program. A National Geographic Educator and Environmental Educator from the Union County Conservation District will lead children in an interactive outdoor learning adventure on stream ecosystems and the many aquatic organisms that live within them. Recommended for children ages 5 and up. Program held at the Dale Engle Walker House. Participants should dress appropratly for getting wet and exploring water. Masks are required and COVID precautions will be followed. This event is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Space is limited.

Registration is now open for our Owl Pellet Dissection program as part of the Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s Families Understanding Nature (FUN) Weekend Program. Your children will learn all about owls – what they eat, their habitat, their unique tubular vision – and will dissect their own owl pellets! This program will be led by Jon Beam, Assistant Director of the Montour Area Recreation Commission, and supervised and assisted by knowledgeable educators. Recommended for children ages 5 and up. Masks are required and COVID precautions will be followed. This event is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Space is limited. Register here.

Museum-at-Home: Munchkins & Pumpkins Spirit Week

Monday, October 26-Sunday November 1, 2020

Celebrate Halloween safely this year by getting into the spirit with the LCM. Join us for a fun-filled week of fall themed Museum-at-Home activities and crafts. Experience the wonder of puking pumpkins with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department’s annual Halloween Chemistry Show (virtual) on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 pm. Then, enjoy special crafts shared by our Education staff throughout the week. The week culminates with a Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Saturday, October 31. Pick up a free pumpkin from the LCM Pumpkin Patch (the LCM courtyard) starting Tuesday, October 27 while supplies last. Pumpkins provided by Dries Orchards. Take your pumpkin home and paint or carve it, take a picture of it, and send it to the LCM. Random prize winners will be awarded to the winner in each category (3-5 year olds; 6-10 year olds; 10-16 year olds; 16 and up). Are you a kid at heart? You can participate too. To enter the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, there is a $5 registration fee. Registration and photo submission of decorated pumpkin required by Friday, October 30. Virtual Halloween Chemistry Show

Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 6:00 pm 

Experience the wonder of puking pumpkins with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department’s annual Halloween Chemistry Show (virtual). In partnership with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department and the Lewisburg Children’s Museum, families are invited to a Halloween Chemistry Show on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 pm that will ignite their curiosity through this simulcast streaming event. This program will be a part of a larger Museum-at-Home: Munchkins & Pumpkins Spirit Week event. Crafts, pumpkin carving contest, and prizes- stay tuned for more updates. Tune into the LCM Facebook Page to view event. This event is free, but donations are appreciated.
