Things to know before you go!


Can we visit if a member in my group is sick or has a fever?
Lewisburg Children’s Museum has always had a sick policy in place. Staff and visitors will be instructed to stay home if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other known symptoms of COVID-19. Please plan to visit us when you are once more healthy!

How do we buy tickets?
Tickets are purchased at the museum.

Will hand sanitizer be available to guests?
Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the museum’s entrance and throughout the museum. Hand washing remains the best way to prevent the spread of germs. We ask that visitors wash hands frequently during a museum visit, especially after: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing their nose, and before or after entering the museum.

Refund & Cancellation Policy


Museum Admission

Refunds are issued at the discretion of the Museum.

  1. Refunds for general admission may apply if a guest has visited for no more than 30 minutes. 

  2. Proof of purchase (receipt) must be presented at the time of refund request

  3. Visitors must complete a refund request.



Gift Certificates
Gift certificates issued prior to January 2022 are subject to the following guidelines.
  1. Gift certificates are not eligible for refund.

  2. Gift certificates are valid towards the specified written amount only and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit towards future admission or planned visits, such as field trips, group visits, classes, or birthday parties.

Gift certificates issued after January 2022 are subject to the following guidelines.
  1. Gift certificates are not eligible for refund or redeemable for cash.



Memberships
  1. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. Names listed on membership are not interchangeable.

  2. Membership includes a relation of four (4) related individuals and is valid one year from date of purchase.

  3. The LCM reserves the right to check identification of members at the Admission Desk.

  4. Children under the age of 2 are admitted free and need not be covered by a membership.

  5. Museum policy requires that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  6. Due to additional expenses related to group/school visits, birthday parties, rentals, and special events, membership benefits do not apply.

  7. All memberships begin on the date of purchase unless you are purchasing a gift certificate for a membership. (Gift memberships begin the date of redemption.)

  8. If purchased the same day with proof of purchase, a comparable level of your admission costs can be applied towards the purchase of a membership.



Classes & Programs

The LCM  reserves the right to cancel classes or programs for low enrollment, severe weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event the LCM cancels a program, participants will be notified and registration will be refunded. Camp transfers are possible on a case by case basis. Space in each session is limited. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

If a request for program transfer or withdrawal is received...

  1. At least one month before the first day of the program session, you may choose to transfer to another program session, of equal or lesser value, space permitting, or receive a full refund of the program registration fee.

  2. At least two weeks before the first day of the program session, you may choose to transfer to another program session, of equal or lesser value, space permitting, or receive a refund of 50% the program registration fee.

  3. Less than two weeks before the first day of the program session, no transfer or refund requests will be honored.



Rentals and Parties
  1. Payment is due in full at time of reservation and is nonrefundable.

  2. On a case by case basis, rentals may be rescheduled for another date or time, when scheduling allows.



Field Trips and/or Group Visits
  1. Field trip payments can be made by cash, card, or check. If payment in full is made prior to the field trip, no refund may be issued.

Merchandise Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing to shop with the LCM! Your purchase directly supports Museum programming and operations. Our return-with-full-refund policy covers unopened/undamaged items that are brought back with a receipt to the Museum Shop within 14 business days of purchase for a refund in the form of the original payment method. In the event that a purchase is missing components or damaged upon opening, the Gift Shop will do its best to rectify the situation by offering a refund or a replacement, if possible. We ask that products in the Shop be handled with care, and in the event that a product is broken or damaged by a guest, we kindly ask that the product be purchased by said party.




What can I expect during my visit?


What can I expect during my visit?
  1. We are located on the second floor of GreenSpace Center. All LCM exhibits are located on the second floor. Please enter through Door #5 in our courtyard.

  2. Parking is available in the Dale Ally lot and along St. Louis Street

  3. LCM accepts cash, check, or credit card. Cash or check is preferred.

  4. LCM is wheelchair accessible. There is elevator accessibility from Door #5 at the courtyard entrance

  5. While the museum is stroller-friendly, a front or back child carrier can make it easier to get around

  6. Diaper changing stations are provided in the Family Restroom near the entrance of the museum

  7. Eating and drinking are not allowed inside the museum

  8. If purchased the same day with proof of purchase, a comparable level of your admission costs can be applied towards the purchase of a membership. Ask our staff for details.

  9.  LCM is geared toward children 2-10 years old; there must be 1 adult for every five children

  10. All children must be accompanied by an adult and all adults must be accompanied by children

  11. To ensure all guests have a positive experience, we ask that children and adults put away exhibit items after playing with them

  12. LCM is a place where children AND adults active play together. Adults should be prepared to play, share, and explore the experience with their children.



What rules and safety guidelines should I know?
  1. Children younger than 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for admission to the museum, all programs, and special events. For the safety of our young visitors, adults unaccompanied by children will not be allowed admission into the Lewisburg Children's Museum, without prior arrangements with the Museum's staff. 

  2. Refrain from eating and drinking in the museum for the safety of guests and exhibits

  3. Help us keep the museum tidy by returning exhibit props to their proper place when you are finished using them

  4. The LCM is a place where children AND adults actively play together. Please limit cell phone and other device usage while in the museum to maximize the experience between you and your child.

  5. Play gently with exhibits and other guests

  6. Please walk in all areas of the museum

  7. Disruptive, disrespectful, or abusive behavior or language will not be tolerated and may result in offending parties being asked to leave the museum without refund

  8. No guns/weapons of any kind are permitted on museum grounds

  9. LCM is a tobacco/drug/alcohol free environment

  10. Please wear shoes and socks in all areas of the museum, EXCEPT the Digestion System in the Body Works Exhibit



Do you offer any discounts?
  1. LCM offers a Family Day pass for groups of four or more for $32. Additional guests are $6 per person. The Museum also offers a Senior Citizen Discount of $6 per person. The Senior Citizen Discount cannot be used with other discount offers. 

  2. LCM is a Museums for All participant. Present your Pennsylvania SNAP/EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program/Electronic Benefits Transfer) Card at the admission desk and you will receive $2 admission for up to four people from the same household. Your must show photo ID with your access card to receive the discount. 

  3. LCM is a Blue Star Museum. Free admission for active military members and their families through the summer from Armed Forces Day to Labor Day. Free admission is extended up to five family members with military ID.

  4. LCM Active and Retired Military discounts are available all year long. With ID, families can receive $6 admission for up to four guests.


Can we take photos?
  1. Yes! Be sure to tag LCM in your social media posts, #ilovelcm

  2. Please note: By paying admission to the Museum and/or attending an event, photos and videos of you at the event may be published in online photo albums or photo/video sharing sites, like YouTube, and/or on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc at the sole discretion of LCM. By your attendance at the Museum, you are consenting to photographs being taken and shared through the above-listed platform(s) unless you expressly revoke your consent by instructing museum staff not to take individual photos of children. Just let a staff member know, and they will refrain from photographing your family.



How do you keep the museum clean?
Our staff works hard each and every day to keep the museum clean. Staff wipe down surfaces and items throughout the day and at the end of it every day. We also vacuum and mop after hours. We regularly sanitize and launder soft surfaces.

What if my child is sick?
We strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for all children. If you or your child is showing visible signs of illness, you may be asked to leave the museum. We ask that guests with any symptoms of COVID or anyone who has come in contact with a confirmed positive case of COVID, to please visit the museum after you are well or at a future date.
