Creativity Camp

Design your own toys, gizmos and gadgets! In this workshop, explore how to bring fun ideas to life through curiosity, imagination, and creativity. Together we will invent new toys to be submitted to the Young Inventor Challenge as part of the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. Are you up to this playful challenge?! Parents are also invited to join their child on the final day for the Lewisburg Children's Museum Toy Expo to play-test the toy prototypes.

Creativity Camp: Toy Design Challenge
Jun 28, 9:00 AM EDT – Jul 02, 12:00 PM EDT

The Lewisburg Children’s Museum is committed to the health and safety of our guests. It is our top priority to continue mitigating the risk of the spread of COVID-19 while also recognizing the need to safely return to activities, promoting both the physical and mental well-being of the children we serve.

The following considerations have been implemented to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all participants, their families, and our staff.

  • Staff has been trained on both CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines as to maintain a healthy and safe environment.

  • Class pick up and drop off will occur at the check-in window

    • Caregivers will not be permitted to enter the museum, unless participating in a class or workshop.

    • Caregivers and staff will self-report daily symptoms (fever, cough, or shortness of breath) regarding COVID-19.

      • Temperatures will be taken at the check-in area for participants

      • Screenings will be documented.

        • Has the participant or family members been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days (Note: does not apply to medical personnel, first responders, or other individuals who encounter COVID-19 as part of their professional or caregiving duties while wearing appropriate PPE)?

        • Is the camper experiencing any known symptoms of COVID-19, such as a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat, fever, and loss of taste or smell within the last 48 hours?

        • Have you traveled to an area with increased cases of COVID-19?

  • A staff member or child who becomes sick with COVID-19 symptoms, tests
positive for COVID-19, or has been in close contact to someone with a confirmed case will not be permitted to attend the program.

    • Should a participant or staff member exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 during the program, an isolation area will be designated until a caregiver is able to arrive for pick up.

    • Additional participants and staff will be notified immediately.

    • CDC protocols for cleaning and disinfecting after any suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 will be observed

  • Program capacity has been reduced by 50%.

  • Programs will include the same group members each day, limiting the number of individuals participants interact with.

  • Per CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines, all participants and staff are required to wear a cloth face covering, especially when indoors.

  • Participants will be spaced apart and shared materials will be limited.

  • Participants will have a designated space for their personal belongings, such as a water bottle, which should be labeled with their name. Participants should refrain from bringing toys and electronics. Snacks are permissible if there is a dietary or medical reason and should be labeled.

  • All participants and staff must practice proper handwashing upon entry of the museum, during restroom breaks, and frequently throughout the program.

  • Soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes and no touch trash cans will be adequately supplied and utilized.

  • Museum staff will continually clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

In the event the LCM cancels a program, participants will be notified and registration will be refunded. Camp transfers are possible on a case by case basis. Space in each session is limited.
